Moisture Sensor installation to remotely monitor the drying out of areas. The sensor is installed in a vulnerable place and wired back to an data output point were a moisture meter can be plugged in to download readings. The number and location of the sensors will depend on whether they are for monitoring a current problem or for future building maintenance.
Dry rot sensors can detect the start of an outbreak or it limits. They are a 7 mm timber dowel which has been coated with a reaction agent which changes colour when it comes into contact with active dry rot. It can also be used to monitor drying out of masonry (combined with a moisture meter).
Monitoring air born moisture this is done by installing a relative humidity, thermometer sensor data logger. This is non-destructive and the data will show RH, Temp and dew point over a long period of time as numerous readings are take (up to 7,900). This will give a graphical profile of the air born moisture movement in a property, allowing the specification of remedial action to help control the situation, or monitor the building environment.
